SSF and junior boys league structures

2013 will see Optus Small Sided Football boys and junior boys move to a four zone structure rather than a six zone structure
Following feedback from previous seasons on the six zone structure that has been implemented in the last three years, it has been approved by the Football Federation Victoria Board that the Optus Small Sided Football (SSF) boys and junior boys move to a four zone structure for metropolitan leagues. These zones will be known as:
North
South
East
West
Though each club will be placed into a larger zone than in previous years, this will allow for an increased number and larger leagues for all age groups within a zone. A likely result of this will be that the range of competition between teams found in a league will be closer, and therefore leagues have the opportunity to be more competitive. Ultimately there are likely to be more viable leagues available across each age group and category for clubs to enter teams into.
The new zone boundaries have been developed considering the locations of each club with an Optus SSF boys and a junior boys structure and a more practical break-up based primarily on major transport routes.
These zones have been implemented in all cases except if there were no other teams for a club to play on a particular day.

As a part of this restructure, FFV will be seeking feedback from all clubs involved in junior girls' and women’s football through a forum in late November with details to be communicated to all clubs and displayed on the website.

Finally some sanity, better late than never.
Last year was a disgrace.
There was no U8's in the South (Sunday's), no Kangaroos and Joeys, zones had 5 teams in it.
Good way to turn off parents and kids.
