Is there anyway we can block signatures from loading as recently a lot of users have put gifs in their signature.
1. I find seeing the same gif over and over again pointless
2. on my phone and College internet they can actually cut into my limited usage quite a bit
I know they aren't massive files but they do build up. I grabbed a few to check their size and they vary from 1 to 7MB and while for most this is nothing in terms of their internet usage on my phone I get 1GB and opening one thread today there were 6 of the same 6MB thread, so there is 36MB being loaded. Again not that much really but when you think I get 1GB for one month on my phone on average my daily usage has to average below 33MB a day so just the gifs on a thread go over that. Even if this maths is way off (I don't know how chrome/opera and Java forums deals with repeated images) they are still way bigger than a normal image. Some pictures I checked on here vary from .05-.1MB (this is not just signature ones, Kewell holding his Heart kit is 72KB)
Also it is just a visual thing, I am on here to have discussions not look at the same images over and over again. I am happy to see what club you go for as it can be useful in indicating how you approach a topic and I am sure it is a cool celebration or it is funny but seeing it once is really enough.
Now I am sure some people like them, hence they use them so I don't want them removed but I would like an option to not load them personally. Also if anyone knows how to do this without having the forums updated that would be nice (like using an addblocker to block signatures)
