Hi,
As some of you may know Harry Kewell is up here this week, he was at the AFL Gold Coast game yesterday.

He’s NOT attending the Socceroos game tonight, but IS attending Origin 1 on Wednesday night as a guest of Jeep Australia.

My spies close to the action (very close) have revealed the following:

-   Kewell’s Victory contract was unworkable, Harry ended up PAYING the Victory to play for them, that’s why Bernie Mandic was sacked by him late in 2011 (notice that Bernie has disappeared from the scene since…)
-   Victory offered Kewell $1.2M per year, for the remainder 2 years of his 3 year deal (in effect to put him on ‘wages’), the family issue with Mrs Kewell’s Mum in the UK scuppered that though.
-   There ‘may’, repeat ‘may’ be some bad blood b/w Ange & Harry, which is why Harry isn’t in Sydney today. I stress ‘may’ be bad blood.

I'd be interested to know the legalities behind such rumours. Unless I'm completely mislead there is a min wage. How could he end up paying to play? Unless his contract had some strange pay back clause...

Good point. Although I'm sure Kewell's rumoured mega-contract worked a way around that clause.
