Why is this Brazil 2014 so much better than S. Africa 2010 so far?

Is it the ball? The pitches? The absence of the drowning vuvezelas? Only two nights in and nobody could argue we haven't seen some great attacking football, crazy results and great goals, albeit some dodgy refereeing.

Stark contrast to the opening days of the 2010 world cup where most teams seemed to play pragmatic, defensive football.

Spain played like old men

could see xavi and iniesta were close to past it for barca this season, didn't have another world cup in them and shouldn't have even been used imo
