I went to watch the young socceroos yesterday and although i was impressed with our technical level if there was one difference between the Mexicans and ourselves was how many of those players for them are comfortable with both feet whilst our players apart from our two wingers who aren't on the same technical but even our best players tend to be one footed in fact all of them were.

I know alot of these players aren't the products of the NC, but we need to produce players who are two footed if we want to have players play at the top level i think but doesn't mean some of these guys could have good careers given how talented they are.

Just my observation.

Sent a young Aussie lad to England for a 3 week trial a couple of years back and at the end of the session the coach pulled him aside to ask which his stronger foot was - the lad told him that his strongest foot was whichever the ball came to... Coach asked him which foot he'd use to take a free kick - kid said it depends which side of the box it's on... The coach loved him after that - would have had a 2 year deal if he could have got an English work visa.

If that was two years ago, what's he doing now? Has he tried out for a NYL team? Tried for Europe again? Playing NPL level now - still playing at all?!

He's playing in Portugal.
