This Friday marks the start of the end of our Australian 4door cars :( Holden in Elizabeth close's next year followed by Toyota Camry in Altona.
I'm sure some of you wouldn't give a toss but for me we not only lose automotive Australian manufacturing were losing OUR cars that have evolved into fantastic bang for buck machines.
The famous Falcon 6cyc motor is as solid and better than a bimmer straight 6 and once a turbo was bolted to it in 2002 it went like a cut snake making higher output motors wishing they could perform the same. This is the most Australian car we have ever had due to its motor being made in Geelong and its a sad day.
The Ford V8's have been famous from the '60's '70's delivering the mighty GTHO 4door that was ahead of its time and in the highs of the '90's some originals sold up to $1m.
Now up to $850m.
The last 5.0l Harrop supercharged V8 in the last LE (limited edition) Falcon Sprints split between 750 only turbo 6's in auto only and 750 V8's in manual/auto I expect will end up being collectables in the future.
Falcon brought us the UTE and manymany 4door wagons - a car designed to do anything from work/daily to performance.
RIP Ford Falcon thanks for the memories.
