At least one person has died in an accident on a family ride at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast, 9NEWS understands.Police said it appeared one person had become caught in a conveyor belt, which helicopter footage suggests was on the Thunder River Rapids family ride. Paramedics said four other people were injured. Emergency services at Dreamworld's Thunder River Rapids Ride. (9NEWS)Some people are trapped on the ride, 9NEWS understands. Police could not confirm the death. Emergency services were called to the park just after 3pm AEST.

Police have blocked the re-opening of park for today to preserve the scene.
They have 40+ witnesses so it seems pretty concrete that it was ride malfunction not the passengers misbehaving.
If you have ever been on that ride it is pretty hard to misbehave on - barring unbuckling and standing up.
