Interesting story here about how the Wellington Sevens (rugby) went from being a massive hit to pretty much dead:

TL;DR version is that the crowds of predominantly young males were driven away due to the 'fun police'. Lots of comments along those lines as well.

The FFA Yoshi types should be warned.
