wrong
No collapse, they were taken out the back and knocked on the head by Frank
Yes Clive realised he couldn't talk FFA into a working model so went All In
To-may-toe, to-mah-toe
Point is GCU were never a financial basket case unlike the loser Mariners.

http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/newslocal/central-coast/mariners-win-boosts-stadium-plans/news-story/1295b5d1e0f4d160acc0974df6e29b2fMr Charlesworth and Mariners chief executive Shaun Mielekamp are expected meet council staff today to discuss the club’s proposal to take over management rights of Central Coast Stadium.
Mr Charlesworth said the management rights takeover would be the first step in his much bigger and bold $75 million investment plans for the languishing “community asset”.
“Step number one is to take on the management rights and let us prove ourselves,” the UK-based millionaire and telecommunications magnate said.
“Once we prove ourselves, let’s get on with meaningful discussions about investing in the infrastructure there.
“I want to remind people that we want to bring in and double the number of events, we want to open up the stadium for local community grand finals.
“It’s a community asset, it’s got to be treated like a community asset and we’re prepared to do that.
“We’re prepared to back it and bring a lot more events to Gosford to really fuel the growth of Gosford.”
If successful, the Mariners would be the first A-League club to own a stadium.
The club’s ultimate goal is to buy the stadium and create a world-class “centre of entertainment” by adding a hotel, dining and retail precinct and function centre.
