+x+x+x+xHappy Easter and God bless you all.
Can someone explain to me if Christ was crucified on a Friday and rose from the dead 3 days later why is Sunday (2 days later) the day of his resurrection?
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday = 3 days.
Hahaha. Bullshit. Friday 9am (to pick a random time). Sunday 9am. 48 hours = 2 days. Even if you said 9pm Sunday night that's 2.5 days not 3.
Besides which he died late afternoon Friday (by most accounts) and they went to the tomb early on the morning of the Sunday. (Pre-dawn according to some of the gospels.) Clearly less than 3 days. Whoever was proofreading the bible 1500 years ago let that one slip through to the keeper.
Jesus was crucified on the Thursday. Not on Good Friday. On Friday, He was buried.
The rock was moved from the front of his burial cave some hours before Mary and Madeline discovered it.
Therefore, he had risen some hours earlier than the Sunday. Which is why there is a Service on the Saturday where the parishioners are smacking the pews onto the ground to symbolize the resurrection at the actual time it occurred, some hours before the church actually does the resurrection ritual at Midnight the same day.
