The W-League will now fave the same challenges the A-League has, as the top players aspire to go to Europe and now that has finally happened for the women as they leave by the day. The natural alignment of leagues that used to be advantageous to the W-League has now been lost.
This year will be a significant reality check, as the quality will be significantly reduced, and those gains in interest may well drop off In line with that. Hope I am wrong though and that there are some young stars in the wings to take over, but it will take time.
