How about using English that actually makes sense in a sentence instead of ham-fisted jargon.

"This occurred both with and without the ball"
"This occurred both with and without possession"

Well done to both Melbourne Victory, and Sydney FC as well who have deserved a lot more points than their results have achieved this tournament.
