One of the most exciting talents we've seen in a long time. Not only is his finishing superb, he's got such a silky touch, a fantastic passing game & he's quick. Not often in Australian football when a player has "got it all". I think the sky's the limit for this lad. Every effort should be made to bring him into the next Olyroo's squad with his brother

+x+x+x+x+xLove him to bits. Reminiscent of Arzani (who I still hope may recover fully from his injury one day) but levels above. People are wary of comparing him with Harry? Bugger that... I'm comparing him with Killian MBappe. Blazing pace, great awareness of team mates and incredible finishing. Would not be surprised at all to see him at one of the very top clubs in Europe. Expecting him to go to the WC and blow the world away with his impact. 'Levels above (Daniel Arzani)' is a stretch, I think. Arzani had a hell of a lot of potential. He may still do. Anyhow, Kuol has a hell of a lot of potential. It's unquantifiable and imponderable, though, as we're talking largely about potential, here. But like you, I hope that Arzani makes a full recovery and becomes an important part of the NT and I hope that Kuol goes to Qatar. Difference between them is end product though. Arzani never really had it. Some may argue his assist stats were skewed by poor strikers BUT he didn't score goasls either. This kid Kuol looks far cooler in front of goal Agree on the end product point (albeit from limited sample size from both players). It's worth noting that. So I'd say that he looks cooler (or more mature) than Arzani. But neither of them have played enough. We're largely still talking about potential. So, in my opinion, 'levels above' is still a stretch. Of course it's still just potential, but if he stays injury free he will not only have a magnificent career, he will do for the Socceroos what Sam Kerr has done for the Matildas. But I'm very wary of over-hyping him... Steady on. It would be fantastic if he achieves that. But your words imply that you expect this of him. It's one thing to hope somebody will achieve something. It's another thing (and usually a bad thing) to expect them to achieve it.
Think about Sam Kerr's place in women's football. She's not just world-class, she's among a handful of the world's best. She has put Australian women's football on the map, so to speak. I think it's too much to expect a footballer to achieve that feat. Especially when, across the world, there are more than a few young footballers showing Kuol's kind of talent.
I'm trying to think of an example in the men's game who has been one of the very few best in the world and put their country on the map for football. Didier Drogba for Côte d'Ivoire? Andriy Shevchenko for Ukraine?
It's too much to expect that much from somebody, I think. You can harbour hope, but expectation is where it gets problematic. Should the broader Australian football community have those type of expectations we're talking unhealthy levels of social pressure - a la Cathy Freeman in Sydney 2000.
