The guy was authoritative and commanded our defensive line well. If stays injury free, at only 24 he will be the backbone of the squad for the next two WC cycles.

No disrespect to Ryan either but one of the goals for the Roos in 2023 should be to figure out who the next second choice (potentially first) goalkeeper is.

He's one guy I thought could play at the absolute highest level. Moving to China at 25 was just so stupid. Could easily have gone to china/middle east now at 30 after this world cup and made real money.

Likewise, made the wrong move a pivotal time in his career. Tbh he kinda did 'make it' at a big club.. played a season and a half at psv where he was the backup CB. Needed to go their 3 or 4 seasons earlier though in hindsight when his athleticism was at its peak around 2015.
