+x+x+xWhat Aldred just did has been a red all season until todays game. Yep, problem is as soon as the on field Ref gives a yellow the VAR can't review it. This is where I get confused.I'm sure I've seen a ref walk back on the pitch from watching the video. pull back out the yellow, do a big exaggerated cancel/cross sign then pull out the straight red?

It depends on the on-field ref a bit. The on-field ref has final say on everything. If they choose to ignore VAR completely, they are allowed to do so. So, if the VAR says I think you've made an error I reckon you should look at this one. The on-field ref can just say, nah I'm goin with my original decision. Again, this is where some audio would be useful.
