It's also possible that VAR did actually look at it and flag it for review at the time. However, the on field ref (in this case Shaun Evans) has the power to decide whether to review the incident or not. It is possible he decided to just move on and get on with the game. On-field ref still has final say during the game. VAR cannot force the ref to give a red, they can only recommend it.
