We got rid of the nyl as a cost cutting measure and there has been a push to bring them back. Im guessing it would cost the league around 300k per clun to have an nyl. It keeps getting pushed back but youth sides play in the npl
In our short experience with and without a nyl its not obvious to me a nyl would help at all?
Is there evidence they are useful at improving player development

Thought: if the nyl was u19 or 18 would that be better? It could help players who are not quite ready for npl as well as give players a league minutes before they turn 18 which is crucial
