Curbishley set for West Ham return if takeover successful

Ferdinand - His sale sparked Curbishley's Hammers exit According to the Daily Express, Alan Curbishley could be set to return to West Ham if David Sullivan and David Gold complete their takeover of the Upton Park club.

Former long time Charlton boss Curbishley only left West Ham less than 18 months ago, following his dissatisfaction at decisions to sell key players Anton Ferdinand and George McCartney . Unhappy at the board's decisions on playing staff against his wishes, Curbishley left the Hammers.

Although Curbishley subsequently won a case of constructive dismissal against West Ham, the £2M he was awarded in compensation is yet to be paid by the club. This would be one obstacle to his Upton Park return and it is thought that he would also demand personnel changes at board level.

Although the takeover by the former Birmingham City chiefs Sullivan and Gold is far from complete, it would potentially provide a breath of fresh air for a West Ham side fighting for Premier League survival. Although they battled to a creditable 1-1 draw with Chelsea yesterday, the Hammers still find themselves deep in relegation trouble.

A backward step for both Curbs and West Ham. As mentioned above, too much bad blood between the two especially with certain board members. Zola has had a shoe string budget and i don't if anyone could out perform him considering his circumstances.
