Former Juventus and Ajax star Edgar Davids set for South Africa move

Edgar Davids Former Dutch international midfielder Edgar Davids trained with Ajax Cape Town on Saturday morning amid speculation that the clubless 36-year-old may join the Urban Warriors on a short-term contract.

With club chairman John Comitis and his younger brother CEO George in attendance, the legendary Davids, who made over 70 appearances for Holland and also played for Ajax Amsterdam and Juventus on more than 100 occasions, showed the youthful squad that he still has the skills to play at the highest level.

However, both Davids and Ajax Cape Town are keeping their cards close to their chests with regards to a possible deal.

“I’m here for a holiday and work,” David said, explaining that he was in South Africa to help launch a new brand of football that he has helped develop.
