Just out of curiosity!!! How do state federations run their coaching department?
Do they have a program that follows the new national curriculum?
Does the Technical director of each state federation impose that the NC( national curriculum ) be adhered to ?
Do coaches take it into their own hands as to what they will implement in their sessions what the NC is stating?
Do coaches just do what they think is best?

Lets just see if the NC is really being implemented!!
If you are a technical director of any state federation, please let us know what you are doing in your neck of the woods!!!!!

Hey guys i thought this might interest you. A player in my sons Capital football High performance program U/14's, ( south ) well his father works in the Dutch Embassy. Not sure of his position but, asked Capital Football if they would be interested in having Jan Verslajen (AIS head coach and young Socceroo coach) come down and take a session? Response: Ahhhhh yeahhhhhh we'll get back to you!!! So the parent in question after waiting a significant amount of time for a response took it upon himself to ask the squad coach if he would be interested in Jan coming down to take a session? For sure, any time, just say the day, was his response. Not only would boys the love for him come down and take a session but i would learn a great deal as well.

So on Wednesday evening Mr Verslajen turns up to take the session. The boys were so excited, the coach flabbergasted that the AIS head coach would take a session such as this of his own free will. He did not have give up his free time on a Wednesday evening, but he did, shows a great love for the development of the game here in Australia. I for one was very impressed by his presence and so were many other parents.

The session was like no other that the boys had encountered before, lots of technical and tactical work implemented in the same drills, just fantastic, very impressive indeed. He even told the boys that if they ever get the chance! Come to the AIS and watch the sessions that the 16 and 17 year old are doing, you are welcome any time, we start at 4.00 p.m. To top it off my son who always shakes the hand of the coach taking the session, went over to shake Jan's hand. Well done son, you are a very good player keep up the good work, i'll be keeping my eye on you. That line was not repeated to any other of the 15 players he shook hands with, needless to say my son has had a smile on his face since.

Nice story, glad you shared it. And well done to your young lad.
