Former Brazil World Cup winner Denilson is again being linked with a move to the A-League.

The 32-year old midfielder is currently a free agent and recent reports have suggested he is favouring a move to Australia and talks with several clubs are believed to be underway.

Denilson, who cost Spanish club Real Betis over $38million in 1998, has been buoyed by the down under experiences of former national teammate Juninho who played with Sydney FC in 2007/08 and has marked Australia as a preferred destination.

Since leaving Brazilian club Sau Paulo for Betis, Denilson went on to play with several clubs including Flamengo, Bordeaux, FC Dallas and Palmeiras among others.

He most recently played with Vietnamese outfit Xi Măng Hải Phòng FC but after only three weeks at the club he quit, playing just half a match and scoring one goal for the club, due to injury and a contractual disagreement

Why did Juninho leave if he loved Sydney?

Couldn't afford to keep him on or deal elsewhere too good to pass up?

It was several things.

Mostly it was because John Kosmina wasn't happy with the fact that he was injured a lot and he basically told him that if he wanted to stay at the club he'd have to take a massive pay cut. Despite the fact me and a lot of Sydney FC fans wanted to keep him because when he was on the field, he could litually slot the football through the eye of a needle. He was vital in the midfield. Brilliant player.
In the end he decided that Kosmina was a kunt and went his seperate ways.

I have a feeling though that Kosmina was aiming to get rid of him from when he took over from Branko Culina. I get the feeling he was lining Aloisi up from an early stage.

According to his Wikipedia Page he's resigned with the club he played Junior football for. Ituano.

Great footballer though.
