Bankstown City FC coach Peter Tsekenis has opened up on the thought of retiring from playing in the near future.
The 36 year old former Olyroo has had a great tenure as player/coach of the Bankstown City FC since 2005, but says his days will soon be over on the pitch.

`` I am very honest with myself. I don’t think I will play past this year or next so I will take it week by week and see what happens,’’ he said.

``But I feel that I am contributing and I get a lot of feedback from people that are important to me and that are telling me to play on.

``As long as I am happy, contributing and the boys want me there I will keep playing.’’

The strong defender is aiming to remain a coach in the future, one main reason to him considering hanging up the boots.

``I definitely want to continue coaching and that is probably one of the reason’s that I will hang my boots up - to concentrate on it.

`` I have really enjoyed the role of a player/coach.

``But if you are really serious about your coaching there comes a point where you have to step aside and really concentrate on it.’’

Tsekenis will again lead his troops into battle this weekend as they search for their first win of the 2010 NSW Premier League season against the West Sydney Berries.

After a dominant display against Sydney Olympic in round three, Tsekenis is confident in his team.

`` Every game we go into we want to win a game.

``But I also want the boys to concentrate on the game plan.

``I think if we do that, it will even itself out at the end of the year.’’

you guys can claim jacob burns hahahahaha not cahill

Well Cahill got his big break at United.

We can also claim arguably the best keeper in terms of sheer talent Australia has produced in Mark Bosnich.

We can also claim Wally Savor, Zeljko Kalac, Mile Jedinak and Tony Popovic just to name a few.
