Rockdale City Suns’ solid built attacker Stefan Donevski is eagerly anticipating the clash against Manly United this Sunday at the club’s new headquarters at Bicentennial Park South at Rockdale.
The 21-year-old has settled in rather well in his new surroundings with the Suns after he spent a considerable amount of his playing career with the Marconi Stallions and A.P.I.A.-Leichhardt Tigers.
“It has been smooth sailing so far for me in terms of settling in with my new team mates and our coach Mile (Todoroski).
“Everything is quite balanced at the club, we are playing quite well as a team unit which has helped us out these past two weeks and I am sure we will build on these performances.
“Mile is a great coach and he has kept our feet on the ground though which is good but we are hoping for a good result come Sunday.”
Donevski’s biggest goal for 2010 is to cement a starting eleven position as well as being amongst the goals at the club.
“Obviously playing regular football is my main aim and it something I hope to achieve at the Suns.
“Scoring goals will also be up there but winning as many matches as possible and staying part of the NSW Premier League would be high up there on the priority list.”
Donevski has other ambitions though and as a promising youngster, the young attacker is hoping that he could one day play in the Hyundai A-League.
“It is every young players dream to play in Australia’s elite competition and this is something I would like to do.
“I am pushing myself everyday to get to this but in the mean time, I need to do well for my club Rockdale City Suns before I can think of anything else.”
Taking on Manly United this Sunday, Donevski understands that it will be a tough encounter against Phil Moss’ Northern Beaches outfit who are coming from a 3-0 victory against the A.P.I.A.-Leichhardt Tigers in round 3 of the NSW Premier League.
“We want to keep our 100% record intact at home.
“The club and fans were very happy with our victory against Bankstown then we were able to secure a tough draw against Blacktown so we are pushing for more of the same against Manly.
“We know this will be a tough match as it always is against Manly United, but we’ve had good preparation so far and we will be ready and buzzing come Sunday for this clash.”
