Rumour on the twittersphere is that Sydney FC is looking to sign Riquelme from Boca as their marquee No 10. Tops if true.

One can only dream of Juan, in the A-League, pardon the pun. :)

In it he states he promised the former (now deceased) President of Boca, that he'd retire at the club. But he's only 31 going 32 at the moment, and considering this above article is very recent and Riquelme has recent made no definitive statements regarding his future beyond this season, then he could certainly be a fair target, for any ambitious A-League franchise (Like Sydney) to chase up for 1-2 more seasons.
It would be a massive coup for the league, no doubt. But thing is, IF he does decide to continue on, would he want to break that promise at leave his boyhood club, to finish his career abroad? AND IF he did opt to, would the appeal of playing on a marquee wage in Australia, outweigh the appeal of earning much more in leagues like the J-League, Uzbekistan (Bundyakor) or in the Middle East?
