South Coast Wolves’ tricky midfielder Jason Trifiro is enjoying life down the South Coast after he made the move to his new surroundings at the commencement of the 2010 NSW Premier League season.

The 21-year-old has had a new lease of life at the club coached by his former school teacher and football coach Trevor Morgan with the Wolves slowly rebuilding for the future once more.

Results have also looked promising with the Wolves proving that they aren’t the pushover side many rival clubs believed prior to the season kicking off.

“I couldn’t be happier with life at the moment with the South Coast Wolves.

“We have started off well and are slowly getting into form with some promising results in the past three weeks.

“Our passing game has picked up, the players have responded well to Trevor’s tactics and this has shown on the pitch.

“It’s good to see that we are proving people wrong as we want to change people’s opinions about the club, we are playing a good brand of football and want to get as many people through the gates from this as well as gaining the respect from opposing sides.”

Wolves coach Trevor Morgan has played a pivotal role in slowly redeveloping the structure at the club and Trifiro stated that it was his move to the South Coast side that prompted him to join.

“I must say that Trevor being appointed coach at the club did lure me there.

“I have worked under him for six years now as I had him as my football coach at Westfields Sports High so he knows me inside out.

“He gives us the freedom to play and wants us to play the passing game.

“He always organises good and useful training sessions as well in bettering our games for the better.”

Coincidently, Trifiro is one of five current Wolves players that Morgan had taught as a football coach with Westfields Sports High as Brody Crane, Tayfun Buyukkopru, Alex Mansueto and Nikodin Matic all came through the ranks under his tutelage.

The South Coast Wolves have been labelled a ball playing side by a number of their NSW Premier League counterparts a title Trifiro and his squad are happy to have.

“We’re not Barcelona but we are playing a good brand of football and I know that the team is content with people liking our style.

“It’s great for football in the South Coast to witness some nice free flowing games played and if it can attract them through the gates as well as the squad pulling together results, then we’ve done our job.”

On the local issue, every South Coast Wolves home match thus far has seen a local Illawarra Premier League ‘Match of the Round’ take place as a curtain raiser to the senior squad, an initiative Trifiro agrees with.

“The vibe for football in Wollongong is fantastic and I know the locals support the local Illawarra Premier League big time.

“It has created a good atmosphere for us at home as a number of the local players and supporters are curious to check out how we’re travelling.”

Speaking of home comforts, the wonderful facility that is WIN Stadium has been well received by the Wolves players with Trifiro stating it is the best pitch used in the NSW Premier League.

“I honestly believe this is the best playing pitch in the NSW Premier League at the moment, it’s great for playing football and I know the team enjoy playing at home.”

South Coast Wolves’ next task is to travel to Cromer Park this Sunday to tackle Phil Moss’ Manly United squad with the hope of continuing the club’s current good form in the NSW Premier League.

“It will be a very tough match for us but I believe we are playing Manly at the best time as we are full of confidence and are carrying a good vibe with the squad.

“I know the players are quietly confident they can come away with something from Cromer.”

The South Coast Wolves travel to Manly United on Sunday at Cromer Park with kick off set for 3pm.
