Middle Park schoolboy Dylan Coggan wins trip of a lifetime

AN eight-year-old Middle Park schoolboy has won the tip of a lifetime to walk on the field with the Socceroos at the world cup in South Africa.

Dylan Coggan, who attends Jamboree Heights Primary School, will walk on the field with the Socceroos when they take on Ghana in the group stage of the tournament on June 19.

He entered the McDonalds player escort competition and will join nine other winners from across Australia, after his comic story about how he helped a player on the opposite team to their feet after they tripped up impressed competition judges.

Dad Dale Coggan said his son was excited about meeting his sporting heroes:

"He's such a huge fan of the game and I'm so thrilled that he is going to have the chance to actually see a game live and cheer on the Socceroos," Mr Coggan said.

"He plays every week for the St Catherine Spartans under 10s and I'm so proud of what a good sport Dylan is, he said.
