Man United ace to coach Territory

April 27th, 2010

FORMER Manchester United and England player Paul Parker will coach the Northern Territory soccer team in the second installment of the ConocoPhillips Timor Sea Cup starting on Thursday.

The international under-18s tournament is held in Dili, East Timor until Sunday between teams from NT, East Timor and the Indonesian province of Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT).

The cup is a round-robin series of three games with a final played under Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) rules.

It will be the second time the Cup will be played after the inaugural tournament was held in Darwin in 2008. The event was considered a success with East Timor winning the final 3-0 over NT, and Parker will also be conducting coaching clinics during his stay in Dili.

The ConocoPhillips Timor Sea Cup has been secured for three years, with next year's cup being held in Darwin during the Arafura Games.http://www.ntnews.com.au/article/2010/04/27/142801_ntsport.html

The Northern Terrirtory should have an A-League team, or at least a 2nd division team when we make one. iT'll be good to give the indiginous players an oppotunity.

How the fuck the AFL are yet to get an AFLteam up there yet i dunno, but i reckon they'd get a decent following.

call them the Territorial Crocidiles FC or somthing haha

Whilst the FFA sit on their arses and give a hand to other countries besides Australia, they should be allowing Darwin the same rightd as South Melbourne and let rhem play in Singapore.

No South supporter should ever complain again. Look at Darwin.
