There is an interesting discussion going on over at the socceroos subreddit about which Australian sportsmen could make the socceroos if they played soccer as a kid.

My thoughts are that these sports have some quality athletes but unlike the switch from league to union or Rugby to AFL there is no way you could switch from one of these sports to become a professional soccer player.

That being said it would be interesting to consider what the makeup of the socceroos side would be if some of these blokes played roundball rather than eggball.
