My opinion of your tactics has gone down further and I cannot wait until you are out,Pim.

What do you think about the FourFourTwo article Verbeek Down But Not Out?
AUSTRALIA coach Pim Verbeek admitted that only two victories from here on would be good enough to secure the Socceroos a second consecutive spot in the last 16 of the World Cup following their humiliating 4-0 loss to Germany in their opening group game on Sunday night.

Have your say.

Hopefully this will be a (painful, but essential) learning experience for all of us. The FFA needs to know that if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys. I realised that Pim wasnt their first choice, but we need a coach with more confidence in himself and our players. Pim's tactics from the first day indicated a fear of mistakes. Whilst I'm hardly advocating a return to the Farina days of pushing forward to the extent that you are left hoping you score more goals than you let in, a happy medium would be ideal. Unlike Guus who worked with the team at his disposal, Pim selected a squad capable of playing a style he is comfortable with. This may work very well at club level where you can buy and sell players, but at national level you can only work with what you have got. Australia simply dont have the capacity to play counter attacking football.

The good news is that Germany will likely also beat Ghana and Serbia. Serbia are without their first team central defender and even against Ghana never really threatened. I honestly think Germany will destroy Serbia by an even greater margin than the 4 they put past us.
