Galatasaray winger Kewell fully fit for Australia: Could have faced Germany

Galatasaray winger Harry Kewell was fully fit for Australia's World Cup opener against Germany, tribalfootball.com has learned.

A source deep inside the Australia camp has told tribalfootball.com that Kewell is convinced he is in 100 per cent top shape and could have started Sunday night's dismal defeat to Germany.

Australia's medical chiefs have also given the former Leeds United and Liverpool star the all clear.

For Kewell's part, he is convinced he has 90 minutes in his legs and can start against Ghana this weekend.

There was no reason to play him against Germany. He doesn't have match fitness and there was no reason to play him off the bench when we'd already lost and we don't want to risk him getting injured again like he did last time around against Croatia.

Oh give me a break all this "risk him" bullsh*t.

If he isn't 100% fit now then he shouldn't be in the bloody squad. "Risking" him for 10min against Germany would've been my preference, give him a quick run.

Obviously he's not going to be match fit, having been out for a while. But whether he's being 'risked' in a game we can win v a game we can't is a 50/50 question.
