An iconic western Sydney soccer club is pulling out all stops to ensure it has a future by holding a mammoth FIFA World Cup Football event next month.

Blacktown City Football Club, which has had legends such Charlie Yankos, Robbie Slater and Craig Moore will host what it hopes will be the World Cup Soccer party to beat all.

"We'll have live crosses to all the action at the Cup, 13 big screens to view the game, unlimited food and soft drink plus 3 hours of entertainment, all hosted by MC – Damien Lovelock from SBS," said Club owner, Vince Camera.

Mr Camera of Lily Homes, who bought the club after it faced financial woes (in 2009), said he hoped the big event would help foster community support and help raise vital funds to keep the club going.

"The Demons as they were affectionately known in the past, is an iconic western suburbs football club and has been providing development opportunities for kids in Sydney's west since the early 1950’s," he said.

"To lose this institution would be unthinkable," said Mr Camera

Ken Schembri, Director of Football at Blacktown City FC said it was vital the Club continued to support western Sydney's youth.

"With Penrith Nepean United having fallen victim to financial troubles in 2009, this is now one of the last clubs in western Sydney to offer development opportunities and representative honours for our kids," Mr Schembri said.

"Without this club, the football stars of tomorrow may never be discovered. It sounds dramatic, but it's true," he said.

Blacktown City FC is inviting members of the community and businesses to this stellar event to be held on the 19th June in the family friendly Lilys Restaurant and Centre on Prospect Highway Seven Hills. Tickets will also include admission to the NSW Premier League game being played at Lily Stadium on the same night at 7pm against South Coast Wolves.

With supporters such as Sony and Bing Lee already on board, interviews with Socceroos and potential media exposure, Blacktown City FC is seeking corporate and community support for this premier once in a lifetime event.

Show your support by buying your ticket today $60 (adults) and $40 for kids under 13 years of age.

Support the future of the game, support Blacktown City Football Club and keep the Western Suburbs kids in the greatest game of all.

As a special gift from Blacktown City FC, a limited number of free tickets will be offered to members from the Football United Refugee Soccer Programme, many of whom originate from African Countries.
