Harry Kewell's football life is more dramatic and even more of a page-turner than any great work of fiction.

If football's most famous Harry was literature's most famous Harry - the title would have to be Harry Kewell And The Lightning Rod Of Drama.

You see, just like Harry Potter, Harry Kewell used to be a teenage wizard too.

Harry Kewell - The Teen With The Sweet Left Foot was available way back in 1997.

Some of the early work was something to behold. Harry Kewell Hits The Poms Over The Head With His Magic Wand in early 2003.

Harry Kewell And The Magic Round of 16 Equaliser - the special World Cup collector's edition published in Germany in 2006.

But lately, a darker tone has crept into the series.

Harry Kewell And The Groin That Wouldn't Heal, Harry Kewell And The Septic Toe That Wasn't Really Gout, Harry Kewell And The Mystery Of The Missing Football Writer.

That one was in stores just last week.

So finally, as Australia was waiting and praying for Harry Kewell Turns The Pimbecile Into A Flying Dutchman, we got more of the unexpected drama that shadows him more closely than Hermoine Granger and Ron Weasley.

Just 25 minutes into the latest in the series came Harry Kewell And The Hand That Strayed.

Harry Kewell And His Anger At The Red-Card was soon followed by Harry Kewell And The Fuming Dutchman With The Comb-Over.

Italian referee Roberto Rosetti's cameo as Voldemort shocked a nation watching on the big screen. Certainly Dumbledore Verbeek wasn't impressed.

But even with Harry banished, the Quidditch went on without the Socceroos prince, and the team bravely managed a draw without him to fight another day.

That day will come without Harry. It will be up to 11 others to play J K Rowling and decide how the final in the series will be written.

Will it be Harry Kewell And The End Of My World Cup? Or Harry Kewell - The Wizard Given One Last Spell? Either way, it promises to be compulsory reading.
