Also-rans to vie for position

NOW South Hobart has sealed the Southern Premier League soccer title, interest will centre on the minor positions.

Glenorchy Knights will battle South Hobart at KGV in tonight's feature match.

Knights will be keen to get something out of the game as they attempt to put pressure on second-placed Hobart Zebras.

South, for its part, has its aspirations for an undefeated season to fulfil.

Olympia Warriors will host in-form New Town Eagles at South Hobart tomorrow, with a meagre two points separating them on the edge between safety and relegation at the bottom of the table.

"We're still playing catch-up and we need to put ourselves on the other side of Taroona by being positive and regaining some hunger," Olympia coach Chris Hey said.

Eagles coach George Krambousanos will make some changes to the team that beat Glenorchy Knights at home last weekend, flagging a lack of support for his forwards as the reason for change.

"I am well aware of the danger of this game but I have a strong belief that if we play to our potential we can beat them," Krambousanos said.

Clarence United will host Taroona at Wentworth Park tomorrow night and will be confident of success after a strong 4-2 win over Olympia last week.

Taroona coach Ben Horgan will be hoping his side can muster enough to get something out of the trip to Clarence with any points this late in the season coming as a huge bonus for his side.

"A draw is valuable now and so are goals, with the potential for relegation to come down to goal difference at the end of the season," Horgan said.

Clarence coach Andrew Brown will bring Ben Parker back into his side after resting him last week and will be confident of getting the three points.

In the other game of the round, Hobart Zebras will look to consolidate second place on the ladder when they host Kingborough Lions at KGV on Sunday.
