Ummm... Costa Rica is in North America. But why should the A-League turn away from Latin America? There is a lot of undiscorvered potential there and it's a more financially viable option than to bring someone in from Europe. There will be flops, but you are just as likely to get a flop from Europe, Asia, Africa or even from the state leagues. It's really up to the scouts firstly and then the club itself to decide whether the player is worth it or not.

from what i have heard on this he seems good. but i want the a-league clubs to turn away form the south americans. yes some have talent but others dont. if i was brazilian i could gain a contract with an a-league club. but i would like to see him or winston parks here on a trial.

Yes he is, I couldn't find him anywhere bec the article calls him 'Gabriel'. He played for Alajuelense in the 2007-08 season. Born 1/2/1985, 189 cm tall.

Eliseo had a lot of contact with young people, especially fans, both in the United States and in El Salvador. he has try to relate to them using his own experiences, because these young people also have aspirations and dreams. He constantly tries to tell them that, first and foremost, you have to have an objective in life and choose what you want to do. Second, you have to dedicate yourself to the goal you choose. Here's a few:
Wardy Alfaro - 30yo Costa Rican goalkeeper with a couple of caps, very unlikely to sign him. Only if Theo wants to play abroad.

Winston Parks - This guy is a pretty good player, 26yo, he's was in the WC squad alongside Carlos. He's played in Italy and Russia. He's a tallish striker, something we might need. It would be a big coup if he was to come here, he might require the marquee spot. He is a bit injury prone though

Eliseo Quintanilla - 25 yo El Salvador international, he's an attacking midfielder. Played for DC United in the past. Apparantly he loves to interact with the fans.


Brebs has already been replaced by Pondeljak, so I guess this frees up the last international spot. Only problem is that someone needs to get a long term injury for this to happen. Muscy could do job in training if necessary though. ;)

Does anybody know if we can include him in our AFC squad due to long-term injuries to one of our foreign players? He sounds decent and we do need another striker with Archie not playing for the rest of the group stage.

i wouldn't be too concerned about his age, he seens to be pretty tall and that will make any Scottish coach play him, whether he's good or not... they'll have to decide during his trial.

We need a good striker hopefully if its true he is good and settles quickly but he is young so dont know how much game time he would get with Merrick

He doesn't appear on the LD homepage squad or the wikipedia one, he must only be a youth player then.
