From the outset, the Mirabella Cup was a mickey mouse competition. For those who would like to see such an opportunity for the minor leagues, be patient. I think that FFA was absolutely right not to allow MV and MH to participate in such an amateur arrangement.
Let's face it, with such poor attendance, who thinks that there is any value in running these type of amateur tournaments?
If the FFA can see an opportunity to do something in this area, it will be better run than the Mirabella Cup.
If Mirabella or any other sponsor can put a business case forward for the FFA, I am sure that FFA would have listened to it.
Just one sponsor who wants to have their brand exposed to the larger public is not a good proposition business wise, it is suicide for the game and for the tournament. So, be patient, listen to what FFA has in mind and let them run something that may give the elite of the minor leagues an opportunity to compete.
And then, let's see all the supporters of the minor leagues come out to see their minor teams in the big stage.
In the meantime STOP knocking the FFA, like many people said it before, that is what we have running our sport. support them if you want our sport to succeed.
Some of those who have a big mouth in the media like to stick their boots into the FFA and some of us fall for it, why don't these big mouth media people participate, why don't they put their hands and their money forward to do something for the sport rather than just criticise continously those who at least are trying to do something for our sport.
