Must admit since I've been involved in football I've never met so many unreliable people associated with one sport/pastime.

One stakeholder involved in the game, a veritable doyen, who knows many international coaches, confirms this view.

Another player agent I know confirms this. He says the higher up one goes the worse it gets. Japan may be an attractive option for players, because of sound organisation. I heard of one A League player in Australia who packed up his house to go the MIddle- east to play with a Gulf club. Shortly before he left he was told that the club had decided to go in a different direction and recruited someone else!


A couple of local clubs have some very capable administrators and are easily the best organised clubs.

Of course one can say that if someone is not interested in a proposal, they don't make contact. I'd love to hear the answer ,"No," from the outset.

In specifics I 've found state FFA good if one attends one of their courses, but really slow to send out certificates/licences. The SAP trainer and TD are reliable, but the latter does not always return contact if the organisation says, "No".
In Victoria another member of 442 has repeatedly contacted FFV saying he wants to attend a keeping course run by Tony Franken. He has never received a reply from FFV.


Vikings Futsal has been hopeless. Because of their inept organisation, I appear unreliable to other stakeholders.


Coerver is a problem too. It seems only one person can make any business decisions, but they are always on the run. I've organised a media interview for a significant stakeholder in the organisation, but nothing has eventuated.


Many younger coaches, often current players, have not turned up to clinics they are supposed to be running. According to a stakeholder from state FFA this is par for the course!


Junior association presidents, club presidents, and TDs have not passed on information about attending coaching courses beyond the auspices of state FFA.
I also suspect they don't even pass on about some FFA clinics either, given the abysmal turnouts to some excellent FFA sessions for coaches. A number of coaches within clubs have been annoyed that their officials have failed to inform them about coaching courses available.

As a professional musician there was also a lot of unreliability, but nothing like I've experienced in football. Schools are so well organised comparatively. Welfare/altruistic organisations are not too bad either.



What have other people experienced in their neck of the woods?



If other sports are much better organised, then we are well behind the eight ball. I had contact with competitive swimming and it was much better. Ditto basketball. Cricket and hockey organisational acumen is well in advance of football in this state.

In fairness to the football community - this is the same in many other walks of life.

Yeah, this sort of thing happens all the time in all walks of life- when dealing with tradesmen, government departments, etc etc.

Maybe your standards are impossibly high, decentric?:lol:

I'm comparing football to everything else I've been involved in. This includes other sports and speaking to football stakeholders who are also involved in other different sports. The consensus is that swimming , cricket and hockey are much better organised at all levels.

I'm wondering if it is different in other states?

My standards aren't particularly high either, but I have been involved with professional organisations in my work history who seem so comparatively efficient and well-organised.

Your tassie sockah (backwater) acquaintances understand your delusions and cannot take you seriously. You're the bloke ppl hope that doesn't sit down next to 'em on a bus, god forbid a 747. You're getting brushed off and given short shrift through fear of your (small and insignificant) audience falling into an irreversible coma.

Maybe time to drop this post '05 sockah obsession and return to the tambourine pro ranks.

If what you say were true, it is surprising that FFA have approached me to set up a partnership arrangement with CFP, with national implications. FFA must perceive some semblance of satisfactory social interaction with other stakeholders within the football community on my part.

The 'brush offs' are often given to state FFA too, by some of the organisations/clubs I've contacted. They share with you, Chips, a nostalgia about a perceived, nebulous Golden Era of the past. That was when inadequately trained people, like you, Chips, had status within the game, and, weren't coerced to undertake FFA coaching education, like the present.
The intention of this post on your part is just another troll, from a very bitter person, because you failed a very basic refresher community FFA Youth Licence with Norm Boardman.

This means you haven't passed, let alone successfully attended, any FFA course for 17 years. Chips, in coaching terms, you are perceived as an irrelevance, a non-entity or/and persona non grata within the contemporary Australian football milieu. You need to keep up those tweets with Fink, Frazer and Trumper, and your joint spiritual mentor, Clive Palmer, about the massive influence you guys will inevitably have on global football.

If that doesn't work, go back and pontificate to the many 'two bob suburban bloggers' you so readily denigrate. They will look forward to your uninformed opinions, providing a receptive audience.

If that still doesn't work, you can always go back to fishing. :)
