Legitimate thread with a legitimate question for discussion, Joffa locks original thread for no good reason and bans the poster for having a problem with that.

Not good moderation. Explain why you're closing a thread, and if you are closing the thread, think about why - and if it's a bullshit reason with little justification, DON'T. Let alone closing three threads and banning the poster purely for disagreeing with your non-existent justification.

Sorry, there was an existing thread specifically about the deal and he could have just posted in it. What reason was there for a separate thread for his speculation?

The original thread asked a question that might have lead to people naming people they think might be dodgy enough to try and scam the FFA or clubs out of money. Possible defamation issues.

The opening post gave no evidence or reasoning as to why scammers/vultures might be an issue and why the subject needed to be discussed.
If someone wanted to discuss the issue and started a thread with evidence that other federations or clubs of federation who have signed deals had a sudden influx of dodgy characters trying to rid them of there new income then it might have stayed open.
As General said there is a general thread which is probably a better place to discuss the issue anyway.
The thread added nothing to the forum and when a user is going to continually disobey what a moderator asks them to do a ban is going to occur.

Joffa was justified - but a quick explanation of what he was doing in the first thread would have given WaMackie no room to complain. Deserved the ban for starting the third thread though - take a hint.

This does happen a bit. When mods lock threads can they give reason further than, "I think the thread has run its course", or the like. Don't know the specifics on what Scouse is talking about, but a simple explanation of why a thread is locked is usually enough for people not to start numerous threads on the same topic.
