Sorry if posted before but a quick search turned up nothing.

Now, I don't know how often the Socceroos wiki page is vandalised or how often people try sneak false information on there, however two interesting but unconfirmed fixtures have appeared on the national team wiki page. Yes, yes I know likely bullshit, but you never know.

The fixtures are

Australia v Guatemala in Perth @ NIB Stadium. 30th May 2013.
Australia v Cameroon in Doha, Qatar. 14th Sept 2013.

I am probably too willing to believe this is true because of how long it's been since Perth hosted a Socceroos match.

I looked up the dates, the Guatemala game isn't a FIFA friendly date. We have played multiple friendlies on non-FIFA dates however. Google turned up nothing also. The edit was made by someone using business Internet account in Columbia, at least according to the IP look-up I used. Not sure what to make of that.

I have also sent an email to the Guatemala FA, hopefully they'll reply in the positive or negative.

Without confirmátion this needs to go to the rumour mill.

Playing in Qatar against Cameroon seems legit-ish.

My mistake, eyes didn't spot Rumour Mill when looking for the appropriate forum.

Lets hope both games happen, Guatemala would be an interesting opponent

Can't imagine Belarus travelling big distances and the Roos certainly won't be going over there. My guess is Holger will do without a friendly.

I just read this on Wikipedia aswell. It would be good to play a game in Perth for once but I doubt it is true.

Sorry guys but I call bullsh*t. Why? May 30 is only a month from now and we've heard NOTHING. It's VERY short notice and IF it were to happen there'd ALREADY be publicity for it now. Otherwise it would be a failure from the start, attendance and media interest wise!

Sport in Australia, let alone the FFA, don't work like this.

Added to what playmaker11 said about Belarus - What good/purpose does it serve us, to be playing a friendly then, only 5 days before Japan, yet the Japan game is, well, all the way UP IN JAPAN. It doesn't fit the logic. I know we've played lead up friendlies within the week of the qualifier before, but that was to mixed results. AND, importantly, no FIFA match date, so what kind of side could he line up anyway? The match, by that schedule, would be prep for the qualifier immediately following, yet most of the key players would still be on their way from their clubs overseas, few would be willing to release them even earlier, especially IF, in some cases, that player's club had a fixture around that time.

I can see Holger going for an extended camp, though we ALSO so how THAT worked out against Oman. But it seems logical - especially as we'll need time to acclimatise and properly plan and prepare for this crucial game. Organisation will be everything.

Though will be interested to hear what the response from the Guatemalan FA, if any, is libertarian! :o

holger has talked about ringing together a HAL team for training and fitness leading up to japan. they might be pulling a few friendlies..
