Just to bring a bit of sanity here...

There are 9,000 seats (actual bucket seats) at Belmore on the Grandstand side of the ground which obviously doesnt include the benches around the the rest of the stadium... the capacity of the ground if its absolutely chockers is 25,000, that dwarfs every other NSWPL ground and feels more 'cavernous' than any other ground.

Loving people take a swipe at Olympic though...I know for a fact that Olympic sells the most tickets to their games throughout a season, that is undisputed...and everyone is well aware that crowds are down across the board and we arent talking big crowd numbers.

But far be it from me to get in the way of all the shit-talk happening here...

Pictures don't lie gate 4. I'm not attacking Olympic. They were a great club and will be again in the future. I'm attacking the constant dribble that comes out of your mouth. U say there was 478 sales, plus 16s and whoever else. Yet the picture clearly shows not even 200 people in the stand. There probably would have been about 20 people hanging around the other side as the canteen was there. Where are the other supposed 300 people?

U are full of shit and are trying to deflect attention from the fact u got caught out embellishing the truth. The only people that would have a reasonable idea of crowd figures would be fnsw, who were provided with each clubs budget and could therefore see the expected gate revenue. From my personal experiences, I'd say bonno and united have the biggest crowds, Olympic, wolves and suns are about even with blacktown city and sharks not far off.

Quit the bullshit, your club is good enough without it.

Rockdale have a great little setup going on, with a club house that generates excellent $$$. Just one look at their first grade lineup confirms they have a lot more money to spend than Olympic.

Under the NPL system it has been ruled by governing bodies that only seating along the ground is the way forward , we do not play Baseball to have doug outs.

Oh and on crowds Olympic gets the biggest crowd in the comp by a country mile.

Just cause your little club cannot wait each and every year to play us, dont think our clubs fans care that much, easter is more important than Rockdale.

BSG has a capacity of 25,000 but seating for 9,000, and that includes all of the bench seating around the ground. No need to attack Rockdale's ground. Rockdale doesn't need a 25,000 capacity stadium for the 1,000 people that may turn up to a derby against one of the better known or local teams. They've got 1,000 under cover seats as well as uncovered seating and hill space for thousands more. That is more than enough for this level of competition.

At least Rockdale fixed seating in the player dugouts and a scoreboard, which was required by the comp review. What's the story there?

Sydney Olympic bounced back from a disappointing performance last week with a solid 2-0 victory over the South Coast Wolves at Belmore Sports Ground on Sunday.

Amaury Gauthier and Ibrahim Haydar goals offered a just reward for a match controlled by the home team for a large majority of the 90 minutes, with small pockets of resistance from the Wolves quickly thwarted.

The first half an hour saw Olympic create many chances down both wings, with the overlapping fullbacks giving the Wolves wide defenders plenty of headaches. But despite numerous crosses and set piece opportunities, the home side couldn’t find the net with scrappy last-gasp defending from the Wolves proving to be enough to keep the scores level.

South Coast tried to alter the flow of the match with a switch of mentality and formation, and two promising counter attacks were only ended due to impressive cover defence from young centre back Brendan Hooper.

The home side almost took the lead not long before half time through a rocket Petar Markovic free-kick, only for Wolves keeper Thomas Hamilton to prove himself up to the task. The Wolves responded in the first minute of the second half when Sam Matthews forced Paul Henderson to stretch with a lob shot destined to find the net.

Apart from a free Jacob Timpano header at the far post going wide across the face of goal in the 72nd minute, it was the last real memorable moment of the match for the Wolves as Olympic raised the tempo and ran the visitors around the park in the second half.

The opening goal from Gauthier saw him beat two defenders in the box, and to Hamilton’s misfortune, the originally saved shot deflected back in the path of Gauthier who tapped it in.

Elsid Barkhousir and William Angel both had great oppurtinites to add to the lead, with Barkhousir’s 61st minute shot well saved and Angel’s 71st minute mistimed volley flying over the bar. Eventually it was Haydar who did find the second goal after he headed home ten minutes from time to cap off a deserving three points for Olympic.

Can anyone confirm aroud 1,500 BWE fans are coming, they always come in big numbers so i guess not really different to other matches between them.
