And a big bag of weed.. Weed would not have cut it with Keith Moon. Or Jim Morrison for that matter. Yeah, well anything stronger and things might get a little out of hand.

I'd really like to see people meet their top 5. I'd really like to know what you plan on talking to them about or what you would ask them. I want to meet musicians and writers, people I have things in common with, that I reckon I could have a conversation with or share a drink (or other such substance). I don't seek to try and understand more than who they are and to enjoy fascinating discussion.

Don't think you're meant to say people who are most likely fictional. 433 wrote:notorganic wrote:Jesus?
Don't they need to be real historical people? As an atheist, I acknowledge the existence of Jesus. However, I don't believe the story's people tell about him. Interesting you don't even think he existed  There's definitely a little bit of doubt on the subject but he probably did exist. Edited by neanderthal: 17/6/2013 03:06:59 PM

And as RK said, unfortunately Nelson Mandela may soon be joining that list, and if so he'd be the first one I'd love to meet.

For example, showing Jack the Ripper around Nazi Germany. Or Taking Ho Chi Min the Civil War USA. Personally, I'd take Captain Cook to the Uruguay 05 game  i'd probably take a former great footballer and chuck him in a game now to see how he went compared to the current guys.

Don't they need to be real historical people? Lucky he's only the most documented person in ancient history. Which documents? Without turning this into another religious discussion between the two of us, Roman records and several eye witness accounts to name some off the top of my head. It's a few years since I studied it, so names and details are escaping me. My interest in the topic isn't anywhere as strong as it used to be. Beer is much more interesting these days. But just to make my point clear: There is more written proof that Jesus of Nazareth walked the Earth than Julius Cesear, and his existence is not even in question. I saw a refutation of the Jesus/Caesar thing recently. I'll see if I can find it. Cheers! Maybe we should start a dedicated thread for such discussions rather than dragging many other threads into the same place
