I think a lot of people lose interest in music they can't understand. It's less catchy if you can't memorise the words.

You are right, the first example I used of 'Raul Seixas' clearly takes his influences from some of the 60's/70's rock styles. However, there's still some brilliant music out there that a lot of people in Australia/English speaking countries dont get exposure to. Every now and then something breaks through, but not enough.

When I came to Brazil I had my eyes opened to a whole new world of new exciting music, to the point that my playlists these days rarely consist of English music. I'm hoping some one else has had the same experience or knows a little bit more than just what gets played on Triple J or commercial radio.

With the modern blends in style and genre the idea of 'ethnic music' is kind of antiquated.

With such a mix of cultures involved in football and also on this site, as well as the majority of you appearing to have reasonable taste in music - how about we share some of the better music from around the world.
