Have been meaning to post this for awhile but only just got around to it with 5 days to go, some friends of mine and me are going into the cider making business and have launched a pozible campaign to help get it started.
If you are into cider and like it dry and made properly from just juice then it may be your thing.
First batch is bottled and getting pastuerised and labeled next wednesday and then posted out to all those who have pledged asap.

I think I tried Montieths' once before, didn't really like it.

I prefer Pear to Apple. No-one has Pear on tap (most places will only ever have Bulmers, which is okay).

My local bottle shop has had those 500ml bottles on special for $3.20 for the last few times I've been in there. Got a 30% off last time as well since I bought 6 of them (3 pear, 1 apple, 1 blackcurrant I think, and 1 of another brand ginger beer to get the 30% to see how it was).

Yet to find a cider that isn't unbearably sweet

Try the Rochdale or Kirin ciders. They're a lot more tangy and dry.

I'll keep an eye out for them, Kirin make a quality beer.

Rekordiling isn't cider, it's made with water, flavours and generic alcohol. Shouldn't be allowed to be labelled as cider tbh.

Most of the "big" brands are made from reconstituted apple concentrate, usually imported from china. Plenty of small cider companies popping up around the country now making proper cider that are worth trying.

Gotta agree on that one, Magners for me, a bit pricey though. I must give Kirin cider a try, I'm going off regular strongbow for being too sweet now.

I just ordered a crate. Can't wait to see how it stacks up to other dry, tart ciders.
