Article from Val Migliaccio suggesting Antony is going to be released to PG in January transfer window.

Antony when asked said he isn't going anywhere, will be interesting to see what develops.

ADELAIDE United defender Antony Golec is on the verge of signing for Perth Glory.

He will leave the club this week and is expected to join Glory in the New Year.

Sydney FC is believed to be also in the hunt for the talented left footer.

Golec becomes the third defender to leave the Reds this season.

Adelaide is expected to release the defender during the FIFA January transfer window.

Golec follows Iain Fyfe who signed for Iran's Mes Kerman before the A-League season started and Jordan Elsey who penned a loan deal with Hong Kong's Kitchee United last week.

Golec has not figured for a second in coach Josep Gombau's plans this season despite the side's defensive woes where the Reds conceded 17 goals before keeping three consecutive clean sheets.

Golec, 23, made his A-League debut for Sydney FC under then coach John Kosmina before signing for Adelaide in 2011.

He made 28 appearances for Adelaide and scored twice including a crucial goal in a stunning AFC Champions League 2-1 win over Bunydokor in Tashkent last year.

Golec trained with the Reds in what could be one of his final sessions with Adelaide at Kidman Park this morning.

And with Gombau declaring on Saturday the Reds won't be delving into the transfer market during the window, Golec's pending exit probably means the Reds are intent on running a fiscally leaner operation.

More to come.

I hear he is good but not getting much game time? Not sure how I feel about this as a Perth supporter, Woodcock and Clisby (who will also be competing with Gallas, should he ever get fit again) are the incumbents in the positions he would be competing for and are developing really positively. Surely would only be leaving for first team opportunity, which means JC or RW are being bumped down. With Jamo returning next season and Thwaite re-signing there is a lot of competition. Perhaps a half season only before moving elsewhere like McBreen did?

Also again with bringing in players without a permanent manager :/

It would require the club to release him from the rest of his contract, I'm not sure they would be interested in doing so...

He's obviously not on the coaches list of preferred players, so moving on would be best for all involved by the sounds of it.

I'd take him at MH, as he is a good player.
