No idea yet what it is, but West Adelaide are making a big deal out of an off-field announcement due to be unveiled today. Photos with MP's and FFSA CEO and etc all over facebook, but still absolutely no idea what it will be. Will update OP when its released if its a big deal, if not I'll delete this.

The future of the West Adelaide Soccer Club is secured.
State Government delivers grant of $500,000

In one of the most emotional days of the clubs history, The Labor State Government has ensured the club is destined for continued growth.

Leon Bignell, Minister for Recreation and Sport, accompanied by Minister Tom Koutsantonis, and FFSA CEO Michael Carter were on hand to personally deliver the most exciting news the club has received in recent times.

The grant for $500,000, is earmarked for the re-development of the redundant Kilburn Primary school. This will be the new home of the West Adelaide Hellas Soccer club in 2015.

Club Chairman Alex Alexandrou was completely overcome by emotion, expressing it by warm embraces to those around him. "The day that dreams do come true." he was quoted as saying

I know they are an effnick club, but quite possibly the best moment of the early NSL years was delivered by them. I love watching the old derby vids on youtube, would love an Adelaide derby again some day. For now though FFA Cup, can West Adelaide make it?

Probably not the same but west Adelaide is playing Adelaide city to kick off the new NPL season in SA on feb 21st

They will play their homes games this year at Adelaide shores before moving to their kilburn home the following season.

West Adelaide certainly can make the FFA cup but I can see Adelaide city being the favorite to qualify through the federation cup.

Good thing there's a totally fair allocation of slots for each state.
