Now that clubs have been sorted out how about we start naming which players NPLV & NPLV 1 clubs have signed for the season. I know South Melbourne has signed Leigh Minopolous from Werribee City, Jason Saldaris & Milos Lujic. Not a bad trio to have.

The brain trust probably figure that no Hopper, Soolsma and probably Kelly due to injury this year, so no visa spots taken up yet, no 50 year old Vlahos. Also room for a marquee player according to the more recent document released on the matter.

Minopoulos youth team player + young player. Saldaris only 23, Maynard will probably be back up, also young and youth team player. Jawadi, Norton, Epifano even Holmes are on the younger side of things, and all signed last year avoiding the switching player penalty. Lujic young also, which mitigates his switch a fraction.

Don't think 2014 should cause too many issues, it will be subsequent years when cap gets reduced when things will get tighter.

It'd be easier to figure this out if we had some sort of software available to us plebs to do the maths, dreamteam style.

Fantastic considering. Coming up to AFL season on a Thursday night is great for a second division side.

3-0 to South. Great way for them to start off the season. Also does anyone know if there will be a highlights package of all the games?

South TV on YouTube will have them. On their fb page it has the guy doing interviews so I assume it will be back.

with squads being release should be easier now to determine this. Only issue I'm guessing would be if player was youth player at club

FFS wish some of these games could be streamed, the highlights packages take so long to come out and it's not the same. Didn't some of the VPL games used to get streamed live on youtube one or two years ago?

Just got home from the NPL 1 opener between whittlesea and Kingston 83rd min Kingston leading 3-2 having just received a red and the sprinklers turned on so the game got called off classy and professional start to the NPL 1

goldburn valley go down at home to oakleigh 1-0 and bentleigh vs ballarat was washed out

Glad I ended up not able to make that one.

yeh not a great start but it was out of there hands so what can you do..

also melbourne knight 3-2 win over VPL premiers northcote & port melbourne and dandenong played out a 2-2 draw

the worst thing so far has to be the sprinklers being turned on at the ranges game ... they actually got security to sit on top of the sprinklers with buckets in order to stop it and then the ones just outside the box started :lol:
