13 managers in this World Cup manage teams from nations that aren't their own.

The rules on what countries you can manage are much more lax than the ones on who you can play for which doesn't make sense to me.

It's the most important role in most national teams, so shouldn't they be from the same country they are representing? Or at least have citizenship?

No . Who cares what nationality a manager is as long as they can make the players play the way they want . Hell if we went with your idea in 05 guus would've taken over from cranky franky

Then where do you draw the line? Assistant coach? Skills coach? Medical staff?

What if the guy on the sideline is simply a puppet of international coaches making his selections and coaching his players in training camps.

It would be far too hard to regulate and much better to keep things the way they are

I reckon it'd be a good idea but too many World Cups have passed with this not being the case.
