Although I don't have the same passion for them as I do the Olympics, I still enjoy watching the events that I otherwise wouldn't watch, ie hockey, cycling.

They're crap. Roy and HG used to call them the "Australia" games. That's a far more apt description.

No football tournement, but they've got Lawn Bowls. Don' t get me wrong, I love playing lawn bowls on Sunday arvo, sinking a few beers on the green... But there should be a football competition like in the Olympics. Use the U/23s.

But there should be a football competition like in the Olympics. Use the U/23s. Football at the Commonwealth Games would be a joke and a complete waste of time.

I love the Comm games. Yeah its not such big nations, but it takes just as much practice, determination, concentration, and devotion to be successful. If only Zim didnt pull out of the commonwealth. :( Roar #1 wrote:

I have a competition every Origin time to pick the time when Gus will say, "Oh this is fantastic, can we come back tomorrow and do this again." or even, "That is an origin moment right there." Knowledge of the game is good, but recycled commentary isn't. Heineken wrote:No football tournement, but they've got Lawn Bowls.

Cricket would have been at Gold Coast 2018 but the ICC declined

Its fun watching Australia win events that we wouldn't normally win. Like the marathon.
Apart from that. Its very meh. Hard to get excited about swimming when we go 1, 2 and 3 in some events.
At times, its too easy. The Athletics should provide more even competition.

Not sure if you heard but Michael Shelley from the gold coast won the marathon yesterday. Pretty sure it was a Kenyan who finished second. So yes, it was a great achievement. Sadly, we've never won a medal at the olympics in the men's marathon though. The Athletics is still fairly strong due to the presence of the Caribbean and African nations. So are they actually going to show any live footage of the events?
They are talking about the events that have just finished instead of actually showing them.
