Not sure if it's a reliable source or not, but FWIW they declared Mark Janko had signed for us not a week before it actually happened.

$500k is a lot for a player like Abbas, in saying that he was an extremely good player for us last season. I'd be a little disappointed if we did sell him, he's grown on me as a person and a player, and I think he's become a core part of our team. However, if there is any truth to this, 500k may be too good to pass up for the board. I'd also like to see him stick around to watch him go all Islamic State on Santalab in the next derby.

It wouldn't be the biggest loss in the world, but I'd like to see him stay. He's recently extended his contract so unless the blokes needing to pay off his mortgage by the end of the year I don't know why he'd go to China.

Take it and run, he's very replaceable, and probably only a bench player this season for Sydney.

Had a great season for us last year and looks like he is in good nick for the coming season. I'd like to see him stay but 500k is good money for him.

Would be really bummed to lose him, I thought he was great last season. Really plays for the shirt.

Been an Abbas fan from day 1, will be sad to see him go.

Abbas some matches he is trying incredibly hard other matches he seems to take it easy.
Generally Sydney performed better when he was trying hard.
The offer sounds too good to be true, you would assume it comes with a big salary and Abbas will be desperate to go.

I've been most impressed watching Abbas as a LB. Decent player elsewhere but not a huge loss.

Chinese don't generally like people who make false accusations.

It will be good for his career as far as earning money goes but as football goes it might not be the best move. He will get to test himself out in an unfamiliar environment which brings with it new challenges and experiences. Sydney FC will lose one of their best players from last season and I think Abbas has really settled into the Sydney FC core team quite well. 500k is a lot for him and the club would have to strongly consider selling him if the offer does indeed come in.
