Prayers and good wishes to young Jaiden who is in a coma after being knocked out by a punch to the head following a teenage party gone wrong. Hope Jaiden can make a full recovery and resume playing with Bentleigh Greens and fulfil his ambitions to become a professional football.

Presumably Roar #1 if 50 uninvited guests turned up to your backyard BBQ and started brawling you'd be happy to get locked up.

Ok I don't know what type of party this was, but I'm talking about guys who send out open invitations and it ends up with 500 15/16 year olds drunk in the street.

Depends on the situation. If it was like a Corey Worthington scenario then by all means yeah.

Oh so as usual, you don't know anything about the situation yet still felt compelled to make a dumb comment. You're in real form this week.

Next time you host a party and people you don't know turn up and end up fighting, I'll be waiting for you to say that your criminal conviction is justified.

OK so just completely disregard the very next sentence where I made the point I was trying to make more clear.

And really if you are hosting a party with underage kids then you should face consequences if this situation occurs.

Ok, so let's put this into context: The event was an organised underage rave. It was an 'alcohol free' event at a local hall, not a place of residence. The victim was invited to the event.

There are several people at fault here:
- the young men who gate-crashed causing problems, out looking for a fight at such an event.
- the organisers of the event, for having a 500 pax event with young people and no security guards or an inadequate number of them employed. Furthermore they're also at fault for organising an event in a place where people had no means of departure.
- the police for shutting down the event and failing to do their duty in adequately dispersing the crowd.

The organisers of the event should be charged with failing to meet their required duty of care in hiring adequate security. The perpetrator should also obviously be charged.

Sums it up well.

And the likelihood of it actually being alcohol free are slim to none I'd say

I'm sure that kids pre-drank before their arrival and even smuggled in alcohol but the organisers weren't serving alcohol and other than that there's little they can do. You legally can't be held responsible for the actions of a third party taken outside a certain radius of your premises. And you can't control what people do prior to their arrival either.
