Usual big 2days coming up, wife's family chrissy eve at one of the brother inlaws, between 20-30 turning up big fam. Mine Chrissy day at my brother's another big long day, by then I'll be looking forward to Boxing day eating nothing and do nothing but recover  but so thankful were all ok overall and still close enough considering to some and less fortunate. I'm looking more forward to neglect work emails till Jan 5, fortunate have had another solid busy year and 2015 already starting the same, thanks for asking, yourself ?

Have a great Christmas everybody!
Drive safe, stay sun safe, and drink lots of water!
Christmas for us is the usual hectic day. Drive down to the mrs's for her family Xmas through the day, and then at my Mum's place for her family Xmas where 70-80 people show up.
I'll be on the kayak as much as possible over the weekend - apart from that, not much else planned!

You need to sort out your family time pv4. My wife and I got stressed splitting the time between both fams on the day we worked out that many from my wife's side were happy to have Xmas eve dinner so as can enjoy the next with inlaws either ither but importantly can spend more time with both sides without having to split the day - has worked a treat for years ! Trust Heiny to screw the thread up with a tasteless gif :( Bat - know what you mean on the crissy prep before hand, we have had my wifes clan more times than not, lots of work cooking cleaning etcetc yes I don't mind but as you mention nice to have a break from it all, going to brother inlaws is a welcome relief this season :)

We've always said when the Mrs and I have kids we'll abandon travelling to either, and just invite immediate family (her parents and her siblings' family, my parents and my siblings' family) to our house. But in the meantime, splitting up the day between the two families isn't that bad - it gives us a good excuse to bail out of events if they get dull and boring  Edited by pv4: 23/12/2014 09:49:55 AM

Buon Natale a Batfink e tutti :D A good portion of my extended family are leaving on a cruise the day after Christmas so we already did the family thing last Saturday. Means tomorrow will be pretty chilled with wife and daughter, apart from some quick visits to the grandparents.
